After another overnight bus, we had a few days relaxing in San Augustin, a small town about 10 hours south of Bogota, while I recovered and Adam played lots of guitar. Casa de Francois was the perfect place to chill for a few days – a small farm with lovely little guest houses dotted around the property overlooking the town. Our host was an eccentric but lovely Frenchman, who took great pride in his little oasis.

The drawcard of the area are the pre-Columbian UNESCO listed archeological sights scattered around the country side in between the coffee farms. As the scenery was so alluring we hired a couple of horses for two half days and set of up and down entremly steep rocky hills, hoping that the horses were as sure footed as our guide assured. We visited a large park full of various stone statues and burial sights, and other singular statues and rock carvings in the area.
